Dr. Jennifer Sparrow

Deputy Superintendent at Singapore American School

Dr. Jennifer Sparrow began her career as an educator as a middle school social studies and reading and language arts teacher at Singapore American School. After ten years, she moved to Hong Kong International School where she spent three years as a teacher and five years as an administrator. The first two years as an administrator were dedicated to serving as director of strategic initiatives, helping to move HKIS forward in its strategic plan. The last three years she spent as director of assessment and educational data. In 2009, Sparrow returned to SAS to serve as director of assessment and educational data. In 2012 she became the executive director of teaching and learning. Presently, she serves as the deputy superintendent.

Sparrow holds a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Kansas State University, a master’s degree from University of South Carolina and a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California. In addition to her role at Singapore American School, Sparrow is a sought after speaker and consultant in the region due to her deep knowledge in assessment, using data effectively, and leading transformative, lasting change.

Sparrow and her husband Nick have two children that graduated from SAS.
