Creating Belonging: UDL and AI Strategies for Inclusive Adult Learning Spaces

Educators put deep thought into differentiating for students, but adult learning spaces often default to one-size-fits-all. This session reframes how we engage adult learners by applying the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and exploring how AI tools can enhance differentiation, personalization, and inclusion.
As someone who is neurodiverse, I’ve learned firsthand how essential it is to create scaffolds and systems that support engagement, comprehension, and expression, not just for survival, but for meaningful participation. These self-made adaptations have helped me thrive in professional settings, and they now shape how I design for the adult learners I lead and learn alongside

Participants will reflect on what it means to design for variability through the UDL principles of multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression. They will also explore how AI can make adult learning spaces more responsive and inclusive.
