Whole School Approaches to Social and Emotional Learning

This is a 2.5hr Deep Dive Workshop

As many of our schools have moved to focus on the critical Social and Emotional Skills for our students, it is also important to consider what a whole school approach can look like to SEL and move beyond Advisory and Counselors. This session will explore several frameworks that have been created over the past few years to support whole school approached to SEL and consider the ways you can use these frameworks in your schools to move to a more articulated and documented SEL development experience for your students.

Key Takeaways:

  1. An actionable, comprehensive and learning-focused framework for operational teams and instructional assistants to find a place, voice, purpose, and meaning in what they do;
  2.  Developing operational principles that serve as the bedrock for transformation for all operational teams that highlight their positive impact on the school, and
  3. Strategies for empowering all operational teams and instructional assistants that rely on street data, training, and most importantly a school-wide mindset shift.
