Originally from Scotland, Simon has two decades of international school leadership experience. Following five years at the British School in Tokyo, he returned to Europe as Middle School Principal at the Bavarian International School in Germany. Simon continued his time in Germany where he served as the Headteacher of the Berlin British School for four years before moving to ABA Oman International School in 2016 where he is currently the Assistant Head of School and High School Principal.

Simon has experience of the Scottish, English and International Baccalaureate education frameworks and has achieved the National Professional Qualification in Headship. Simon is qualified to teach History and Modern Studies. He has participated in a number of school visits for the Council of International Schools and the International Baccalaureate.

He has facilitated a number of seminars at ECIS, 21st Century Learning and IB conferences, including workshops for the IB academic team. For four consecutive years, Simon led learning groups at Future of Learning Institute, held annually at Harvard.
